Deepen your connection with yourself in silence

Welcome to the Kundalini yoga retreat in Karkku, Sastamala at Tuomiston mansion. The manor is located near Tampere, which is close to nature.

The retreat's theme is silence, which provides an opportunity to deepen the practice and expand one's self-reflection. Silence allows the nervous system to recover more deeply and simultaneously allows the energy of the exercises to settle on us more strongly. Silence is a tool that helps the mind let go of many external attachments. Often speech and communication distract us from external things and connection with other people. Allowing more silence we can find a deeper connection between the nonverbal and the heart while strengthening our presence for ourselves. Silence is a very cleansing and recharging exercise. Silence can help you become more aware of your inner speech and how you want to use your life force through communication.

The retreat uses as little speech as possible. Arriving at the retreat, getting to know each other and the rest of the summary is done together verbally. During the weekend the exercises are briefly guided verbally, and during the weekend we will briefly go through a few yoga philosophical concepts to support deepening your practice related to communication and self-reflection. You can ask questions during the lecture. Otherwise, on the weekend we will descend into silence and enjoy rehearsals, spending time together and time wordlessly. During the course, the teacher and retreat assistant are available if you feel that silence becomes too difficult for you for some reason or if you need support during the course. If necessary, matters of a revelatory nature are also told verbally during the course. At the retreat, it is also recommended not to use your smartphone or other way of producing written speech.

The retreat program consists of:

At the retreat, we do yoga exercises, relax with the vibration of sound, and explore the nonverbal world through creative methods (writing/painting). The retreat allows finding a deeper connection with oneself. The retreat is based on Kundalini yoga practices - meditations, the healing power of sound, creativity, and self-reflection. At the retreat, we enjoy good food, beautiful surroundings, sauna, and relaxation.

You can participate in all retreat programs in a way that suits you. The retreat allows you to stop by yourself and hear your deeper self in silence. Silence allows for deeper integration of yoga practices and opening up of inner reflection.

Sanja Shanti Nam has been teaching kundalini yoga regularly since 2017. She has taught over 1000 hours of kundalini yoga in her weekly classes. Shanti Nam's way of guiding is gentle and calm, but with her presence, she encourages you to challenge your body and mind for better balance. In addition, she does Meditative healing with this technique as well as sound bowl treatments. She gives also Ayurvedic nutrititional guidance to support health.

Shanti Nam has been teaching regular yoga classes in the Tampere area for a long time and online remotely for several years. Over the years, she has organized various courses with advanced topics related to yoga. In particular, she is interested in teaching women's exercises, to support women's empowerment. She has done charity work in the Finnish Kundalini Yoga Association as a volunteer event organizer. Before building her own business name, she has run the Yoga School in Tampere for four years in cooperation with other teachers. She continues her own yoga studies by studying to become a yoga teacher trainer in an international teacher training team.

Nurturing one's own sensitivity and being truthful to oneself and life are the biggest factors guiding her life.
